Privacy policy
FindPoker, ABN 13 678 806 678. Last updated 4 October 2026.
The short version
FindPoker is a free listing of poker tournaments in Australia. You can use all of it without telling us who you are. We ask for your location only so we can work out which games are near you, and you can type a town instead. We do not sell anything about you, there is no advertising network, and we run no analytics and no tracking. On Android the map is Google's, and what it sends Google is set out below.
What we collect, and why
If you just open the app
- Where you are. The app asks your phone for your position. If you say yes, your coordinates are sent to our database service, Supabase, with the search so we can list the games near you and work out how far away each one is. We do not keep them afterwards and we cannot connect them to you. If you say no, the app keeps working.
- A town or postcode you type. This is the alternative to your location. The town or postcode goes through our website, run by Vercel, to a mapping service, OpenCage, which turns it into a point on the map. Nothing else about you goes with it.
- Ordinary server records. Like every website, our host and our database service record that a request arrived, such as the time and the address asked for; our host's records also hold the internet address it came from. These are kept briefly, to keep the service running and to stop abuse.
If you make an account
An account exists for one reason, to save games so they follow you to another phone. You never need one.
- Your email address. So you can sign in and so we can send the confirmation link.
- Your password. Handled by our sign-in provider, Supabase, which stores it scrambled. We never see it and we cannot recover it for you.
- Your saved games. Which games, venues and weekly games you saved, and when.
While you are signed in, the app keeps that sign-in on your own phone so you are not asked every time. Signing out removes it.
If you are an operator
Operators sign in to the portal to list their games. We hold the account email, the operator name, and the games they enter. Games are public by their nature, which is the point of listing them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade anything about you, to anyone, ever.
- There is no advertising network in the app. An operator can arrange with us for some of their games to be featured, which means shown more prominently, for example as a large card. Which featured games you see depends only on the place you are searching near, your distance setting, the date, any filters or search words you choose and, on the map, the part of the map you are looking at, never on anything else about you. A featured game's page says why it was shown and lets you report it.
- We run no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising identifiers. On Android, Google's map software counts its own use, as set out under Who else handles it.
- We do not track where you go when you are not using the app.
- We do not send notifications. The app has no notification permission and asks for none. If that changes we will update this page first, and you will be asked before any notification is sent.
Who else handles it
We keep the list of companies involved as short as we can. Each one is here because the platform cannot run without it.
- Supabase holds the database and runs the sign-in. The app talks to it directly: your searches, with the coordinates or town point they are made from, your sign-in and your saved games go straight to Supabase, which keeps the ordinary records of the requests it answers.
- Vercel runs this website and two small services the app uses: the town and postcode lookup, which passes what you type on to OpenCage, and, while you are signed in, the step that links your sign-in to your FindPoker account. It keeps the ordinary server records above.
- OpenCage turns a typed town or postcode into a point on the map.
- Google, on Android only, draws the map in Tournaments, using its Google Maps software inside the app. While the map is open, that software sends Google what it needs to draw the part of the map you are looking at and, as Google describes it, your phone's internet (IP) address, details of the phone such as its model and Android version, crash reports from the map software, an identifier the map software makes for itself to count how many phones use it, and in some cases how the map is moved and zoomed. Google uses this to provide the map and to maintain and improve its services, under its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. If you have allowed location, the map shows where you are as a dot; Google's description of what its map software collects does not list your location. The searches the app makes for games, and the coordinates they are made from, go to Supabase, not to Google. On iPhone the map is Apple Maps, which works under Apple's policy.
- Apple and Google distribute the app. What they collect when you download it is covered by their own policies, not ours.
Supabase, Vercel and OpenCage each handle what they receive from FindPoker under data processing terms that apply to our account with them. Under those terms and their published policies they use it only to provide their service to us, keep it confidential and secure, do not sell it, and either hold any company they use in turn to comparable terms or remain answerable for it. On those terms they protect your information to the same standard as this policy. OpenCage keeps a record of a lookup for up to six months; what it receives is the town or postcode typed, and nothing else about you.
Where it is kept
The database is in Sydney, on Amazon Web Services in the ap-southeast-2 region, so the games, the accounts and the saved games stay in Australia. The website runs from Sydney as well. Our host, our database service, the mapping service and, on Android, Google are overseas companies, so the ordinary server records, a typed town and what the Android map sends Google may be handled outside Australia by them.
How long we keep it
Your account and your saved games stay until you delete the account in the app, or ask us to. Server records are kept briefly by our host and then go. Coordinates sent with a search are used to answer that search and are not stored.
What you can ask us for
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us to:
- Show you a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and everything attached to it. We do this rather than hide it, and once it is gone we cannot get it back.
Deleting your account yourself. In the app, open More, then Delete account. That deletes your account, its email address, its sign-in and its saved games from FindPoker straight away. It cannot be undone, and you can still use the app without an account.
Without the app. Email us from the address the account uses and we will delete it. The account deletion page says how, what is deleted, and what our service providers can keep for a while afterwards.
An operator's account can be deleted in the app the same way. That deletes the person's sign-in, email address and saved games; the operator's listings stay, because they belong to the operator rather than to the account. To have the listings taken down as well, use Request account closure in the app, which writes to us, or write to us from the address the account is under.
Email support@findpoker.com.au. For a copy, a correction, or a deletion you would rather we did, tell us the email address on the account so we can find it. If you are unhappy with how we answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Age
Poker tournaments in Australia are for adults, and so is FindPoker. The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly hold information about anybody under eighteen.
Changes to this page
If we start collecting something new, this page changes before we collect it, and the date at the top changes with it.
